CMCC will participate to the 2022 edition of the American Geophysical Union (AGU) conference, to be held in Chicago (as well as in online mode) in December 12th-16th (more info at https://www.agu.org/Fall-Meeting).

AGU Fall Meeting is the most influential event in the world dedicated to the advancement of Earth and space sciences. Every year, AGU Fall Meeting unites the Earth and space science community to share findings, connect like-minded scientists from around the world, and advance our profession and shared passion for the impact of science.

CMCC researchers will present the contribution entitled “Empirical assessment of current and future monthly R-factor over Italy” (Authors: R. Padulano, G.Rianna, M. Santini, M. Mancini, M. Stojiljkovic from CMCC Foundation) https://agu.confex.com/agu/fm22/meetingapp.cgi/Paper/108524, which includes the results obtained within the HIGHLANDER project concerning the quantification of current and future rainfall erosivity, which is a key factor in the estimation of rainfall-induced soil erosion over Italy.

Novelty elements concern, among others, the use of a high-performance empirical model calibrated on a monthly basis to account for the seasonal variability of precipitation, associated to the use of consolidated gridded datasets retrievable within the Copernicus Climate Change Service.

Registration is required for all in-person and online attendees to participate in the meeting.
